Crusaders In Action 2011
Midland Christian School hosted its 4th annual Serve-A-Thon, Crusaders In Action!
On Monday, October 3, 2011, students, teachers, staff and parents participated in the Serve-A-Thon! Our community service project this year was Camp Centaur, a day camp for children who are fighting cancer – with the goal of creating a reprieve from the disease. Children and siblings can enjoy horseback riding, arts, crafts, folk art, wagon rides, nature trails and fishing.
The MCS students raked, trimmed trees, spread mulch, cleared paths to help these cancer patients safely enjoy the outdoors. They also made scare crows to decorate the trails.
After a morning of community service, everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch at the camp and then went back to serving for the rest of the day.
The Crusaders in Action Serve-A-Thon also includes a month-long fundraising effort by students who email and mail brochures to friends and family around the state and nation to raise funds for the school and student scholarships.
This fund raiser is closed but if you would like to help support Midland Christian School by making a donation please contact the school office at 989-835-9881.
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1John 3:18NIV
