Parent Teacher Fellowship
The Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) is a small organization through which parents may contribute directly to their child’s class and give direct help and support to the teacher.
PTF Leader: organizes classroom parents for special class projects and acts as the classroom contact for parents and school representative.
Room Parents: assist the PTF Leader and teacher with field trips and other special class projects; organize class parties and other classroom events to expand on the classical Christian curriculum.
Part of the classical curriculum is that it is more than just learning from a book, it also uses experiences to teach. These types of events could be lots of fun and educational to our children by really making a lasting impression. Hopefully with your creative teaching skills and help from room parents this will be fun and easy. I’m looking forward to see what we can do together.
Below are just a few of the more common ways to get involved. Please feel free to talk with your child’s teacher if you would like to try additional ideas.
- Assist in the classroom, regularly or infrequently. (Arrangements should be made with the teacher concerned.)
- Act as chaperone on field trips and/or library visits.
- Serve as a story-reader, song-leader (in K-5), and guest artist or offer your special talents.
- With permission and arrangements with the teacher, present your vocation to the class or invite them to your place of business.
- Share your experiences, trips, vacations, as they may relate to an area of study in a class.
- Help host class parties at home or in the classroom.
- Closely monitor and praise your child's progress by reading all teacher notes and student papers sent home.
- Pray for our school.
