Tuition Assistance
Midland Christian School’s Tuition Assistance programs have been an important part of the school financial plans for many years. From the earliest days of the school, there has been a desire for the school to reflect the larger Christian community in as many ways as possible. A broad socio-economic representation among our families is one way that Midland Christian School has consistently distinguished itself.
MCS provides and administers various financial assistance programs designed to help families meet tuition costs. These programs provide assistance to qualifying families who have been offered enrollment to MCS.
MCS now offers a “new family” tuition discount plan up to 30%!Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (TRIP)
TRIP/SCRIP is a program in which families purchase gift certificates through Midland Christian School to shop at major food and retail stores. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with SCRIP stores and 50% of the earnings go towards reducing your tuition obligation. To learn more click here: What is TRIP?
MCS Tuition Grant Fund
Tuition Assistance is available due to God’s faithful provision and the generosity of numerous friends of the school; at least one-third of enrolled families benefit from the Tuition Grant program. You are encouraged to apply for a tuition grant if tuition exceeds 10.5% of your total family income. Please see the enrollment and tuition forms for more details.
Tuition Grant Fund Application Process
- Tuition assistance applications are to be completed after enrollment application and fee are submitted to the Midland Christian School Office.
- The Tuition Assistance Committee will review the recommendations and make final award decisions.
- Award amounts are then reported to families confidentially.
- Families then have until the designated enrollment deadline to decide whether or not to accept the award and enroll for the following school year.
Student Benevolence Fund
Sometimes families encounter financial hardships during the school year after all grants have been established. Such hardship usually involves severe or extenuating circumstances which cause a family to withdraw its student(s) from MCS because tuition payments are no longer feasible. The MCS Student Benevolence Fund allows anonymous donors to provide tuition assistance for families who would otherwise withdraw from MCS.
MCS Recruiting Incentive
Current MCS families are eligible for a $1,000 tuition reduction for every new family they recruit that is ultimately enrolled at MCS. The criteria for this incentive are:
- The new family recruited must meet MCS admission policies and have at least one new student enrolled at MCS.
- The new family must specify who recruited them.
- The recruiting incentive can be earned by any family, even if receiving other tuition reductions and financial aid. Incentives are given as tuition reductions in increments, beginning when the new family recruited has been enrolled at least 90 days.
Tuition should never be considered an expense, but rather an investment in the life and destiny of each child. We recognize that tuition is a major financial commitment for all families, and the decision to provide quality Christian education should not be made lightly.
Midland Christian School is committed to working with our families to make sure that classical Christian education is affordable for their children; but ultimately, financing a Christian education is a family’s responsibility.
