FINE MOTOR
SKILLS
Develop hand/eye coordination
necessary for skills such as writing, coloring and cutting.
GROSS MOTOR SKILLS
Enhance children’s overall coordination. Develop social
skills related to sportsmanship and cooperation with others.
LITERACY
(3 YEAR OLD PROGRAM) Recognize the name and sound of
each letter of the alphabet. Understand letters become words used to
communicate. Successfully write and recognize their name. Demonstrate interest
in and knowledge of books.
(PRE-K PROGRAM) Recognize simple sight
words. Begin blending sounds to create words. Understand rhymes and context,
setting, character, problem & solution. Differentiate between fantasy and
reality in text. Successfully write and recognize their first and last name.
Retell familiar stories through puppets, drama and felt.
Recognize basic shapes, numbers, and concepts of quantity.
Understand beginning place value, graphing, sorting, patterning and sequencing.
Perform simple addition problems to 5.
SCIENCE
Awaken interest in God’s creation. Basic understanding of
scientific method. Foster Biblical perspective of nature. Study senses,
animals/insects, plants, weather and seasons.
SOCIAL AND SELF
AWARENESS
Develop an understanding of the relationships between
themselves, their families & community. Awaken interest in culture, history
& social studies. Study holidays, community helpers, family, school
relationships & maps.
SPANISH
Expose children to a secondary language. Beginning
vocabulary including numbers 1-10, colors, foods, animals, parts of the body,
family members, & greetings.
